A series of five vest-pocket parks along the East River, connected by a promenade of nearly a quarter acre of new public land.
A promenade between two existing parks overlooks the East River and Queensboro Bridge. This restored public esplanade is a place where
locals and sightseers visit and enjoy the expansive views of the city skyline.
It is an appreciated open public space for the community of Sutton Place. The revamped roof deck park (as part of FDR Drive reconstruction) features new curved benches, and green space. The parks also features a ADA ramps that leads to the esplanade, allowing full access to the public parks and views to the East River and the Queensborough Bridge.  
As project designer and project manager, Mr. Lau coordinated environmental permits such as USCG, NYSDEC wetlands, NYC Parks construction permits, and development of the MOA with NYSDEC to ensure viability for a future esplanade.
